Voices for Justice:Empowering Change toRemember, Condemn, andPrevent Genocide

Mekelle:  17 April 2024 (Tigray Herald)

The Alliance of Genocide Victim Communities (AGVC) would like to extend an invitation to you to an event tomorrow (Wednesday, April 17th at 1pm) commemorating Genocide Remembrance, Condemnation, and Prevention Month, which is being organized by The Alliance of Genocide Victim Communities, the Montreal Institute for Genocide Studies @MIGSinstitute , & MP Ali Ehsassi @AliEhsassi.

The event will feature a one-hour presentation on Wednesday, April 17th, at 180 Wellington Street, Ottawa, Room # 310, from 1:00pm – 2:30pm, where representatives from six different genocide victim communities will present their urgent requests to the Canadian government, aiming to raise awareness about the critical need for justice and the prevention of genocide.

MPs @OurCommons, your attendance or that of your staff at this event would provide an invaluable opportunity to directly engage with the prominent representatives of these communities and gain a deeper understanding of their experiences and needs. If you are unable to attend the event but have a 10-15 minute window where you would be open to meeting privately with a delegation from this alliance, we would be more than willing to accommodate your schedule.

If you have any inquiries or require further information about the event, please do not hesitate to contact Joanne @hodgesjoanne.

We sincerely hope that MPs or your staff and government officials will be able to join us. Thank you once again for your unwavering dedication to human rights, and we eagerly anticipate the possibility of welcoming you to the Voices for Justice event. Please find attached the flyer for the event.

Members of the AGVC in Ottawa and surrounding areas are very much encouraged to attend the event. If you are able to attend (this is only in person event), please reach out to Joanne by email on the flyer.
