urgently need comprehensive research and laboratory experiments to understand the full impact of chemical use to extract mining in Tigray.
It has come to our attention that the methods being used to extract gold in Western and Ma’ekelay Tigray are highly dangerous and life-threatening. The chemicals involved in these processes pose severe risks to human health, animals, and the environment.
Given the gravity of this situation, we urgently need comprehensive research and laboratory experiments to understand the full impact. The GSTS, under your leadership, Dr. Gebrekidan is well-positioned to take the lead on this critical issue. This undertaking requires significant research and effective communication with organizations that specialize in this area.
Could the GSTS take a leading role in addressing this problem? We must collaborate with the Tigray government to address these concerns immediately. If this information is accurate, the listed chemicals could cause irreparable harm to our people, wildlife, and land.
Time is of the essence. We must act before it is too late.
