Today, the Tigrayan community in the Netherlands held a significant demonstration to show solidarity with the women victims of violence in Tigray. The event aimed to bring international attention to the ongoing atrocities committed against women and children in the region.

The TPLF-led Tigray government has been criticized for its failure to protect its people, particularly women and young children, from brutal acts of violence. According to reports, the following crimes were committed in the city of Mekele alone:

12 murders
53 cases of forced rape
178 attempted murders with sharp objects
10 child abductions
4,340 felonies and misdemeanors
1,953 theft offenses
583 cases of felony battery
The demonstrators called for an immediate end to these crimes, emphasizing the urgent need for international intervention and support. They chanted powerful slogans, such as “We stand with Tigrayan women” and “Stop the violence now,” to convey their unwavering support for the victims and to demand justice.

This demonstration is a critical reminder of the dire situation in Tigray and the need for global solidarity to protect and support the vulnerable populations affected by the conflict.
