Subject: Urgent Condemnation and Appeal Against TPLF Militias’ Crimes Against Humanity in Southeast Tigray.
We, the Tigrayan Advocacy for Human Rights and Justice (TAHRJ) and allied international
advocacy groups, strongly condemn the ongoing heinous crimes committed by the TPLF’s rogue militia groups.
The latest indiscriminate shooting and terrorizing of innocent civilians in Adi
Gudem District, Southeast Tigray, is a blatant violation of international human rights law and a serious escalation of their crimes against humanity.
TPLF’s Militias Have Crossed a Red Line: A Campaign of Terror Against Tigrayans
The TPLF-commissar-controlled armed militias have now devolved into terrorist groups, systematically turning their guns against the very people they once claimed to protect. Their actions include:
- Targeted Killings of Civilians – Peaceful residents in Adi Gudem and surrounding areas have been subjected to cold-blooded shootings, creating widespread fear and chaos.
- Indiscriminate Terrorizing of Communities – The systematic intimidation, attacks, and violent repression of innocent civilians mirror the tactics of authoritarian regimes and terrorist organizations.
- Suppressing the People’s Rights – The people of Tigray have already endured a devastating genocide. Instead of working towards post-war recovery, these rogue elements are sabotaging peace, security, and rehabilitation efforts.
- Defying International Law – These atrocities violate fundamental human rights, including the Geneva Conventions and UN conventions against crimes against humanity and extrajudicial killings.
A Self-Defeating Act: You Cannot Win Against the People of Tigray Let this serve as a warning to the TPLF’s militia forces and their commanders:
You cannot rule through terror. History has shown that armed groups that turn against their own people are destined for political and military failure. The people of Tigray reject violence. The indiscriminate shootings and suppression of civilians only strengthen calls for justice, accountability, and total dismantling of rogue TPLF armed
factions.
You will be held accountable. Every commander and militia member involved in crimes against humanity will face justice before international courts. Our Urgent Appeal to the International Community
We call on the United Nations, the U.S. government, the European Union, the UK, and all international human rights organizations to:
- Immediately condemn the TPLF’s ongoing crimes against humanity in Southeast Tigray.
- Launch an independent investigation into the killings and hold those responsible accountable.
- Press the Tigray Interim Government to take decisive action in disarming and dismantling rogue TPLF militia factions.
- Support efforts to restore security, peace, and rehabilitation for the war-tornTigray of Tigray Tigray deserves a future free from violence, intimidation, and terror—not further oppression by the remnants of a failed and politically bankrupt TPLF military structure.
Justice for the People of Tigray Now!
