Arab Summit in Egypt Postponed – No Longer “Urgent”!

The #Emergency_Arab_Summit, scheduled to be held in #Egypt on February 27, is no longer urgent, as it faces potential postponement to a later date due to “considerations related to the schedules of participating leaders,” according to Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League.

Zaki clarified that Egypt’s insistence on ensuring maximum leader attendance to guarantee the summit’s success is the reason behind any possible delay, stressing that the reasons are “purely logistical.”

However, amid escalating crises in Gaza, rising tensions in the Red Sea, and mounting threats to Arab national security, this postponement raises critical questions. It sends a negative message at a time when Arab citizens demand decisive decisions and a unified stance.

Crises will not wait for leaders’ agendas, and absence from the dialogue table at this critical moment could cost the Arab world dearly.

Emphasizing that the delay is “purely logistical” does not soften the sharp question: Does the leaders’ schedule align with the gravity of the crisis?
