“Wolves in Uniform: Exposing the TPLF Criminal Enterprise Masquerading as a Security Office”

Subheading:
A Rebuttal to the Illegitimate and Desperate Press Release by the So-Called Office for Peace and Security of Tigray

Executive Summary

The recent press release by the so-called “Office for Peace and Security of Tigray,” headed by General Fisseha Kidanu (Manjus), is a transparent and desperate attempt to salvage the reputation of a discredited and criminalized military-political apparatus. Rather than providing clarity or accountability, it reeks of fear, denial, and the crumbling arrogance of an entrenched TPLF elite facing a reckoning.

This document offers a comprehensive rebuttal to that press statement, exposes the individuals behind it, and reaffirms the urgent need for justice, institutional reform, and the dismantling of the militarized patronage network that has long oppressed Tigray from within.

  1. Illegitimate Voices in Uniform

The so-called “Office for Peace and Security” is neither legally constituted nor morally credible.

It operates under the command of General Fisseha Kidanu—a figure internationally known for cross-border smuggling, political manipulation, obstruction of the Pretoria Peace Process, and direct involvement in illegal gold and arms trafficking.

This office was not elected, appointed through transparent process, or mandated by the people. It is a political relic of a corrupt TPLF command structure that Tigrayans are increasingly rejecting as new voices for justice and reform emerge under President Getachew Reda’s leadership.

  1. A Criminal Cartel’s Last Gasp

The press release is not a message of peace or unity—it is a panic-stricken reaction to:
Revelations of gold smuggling and illegal mining implicating senior military figures and TPLF elites.

Exposure of racketeering operations involving Generals Megebe Haile, Haileselassie Girmay,
and Mahsho Beyene.

Credible evidence of human rights abuses—arbitrary arrests, torture, and political
assassinations targeting reformist voices.

Cross-border criminal syndicates linked to human trafficking and contraband, orchestrated by networks loyal to Debretsion Gebremichael, Fetlework Gebregziabher, and Alem Gebrewahid.

Instead of addressing these grave allegations, the press release attempts to scapegoat President Getachew Reda and distract public attention from an avalanche of documented corruption and abuse.

  1. Hijacking the Legacy of Martyrs

The irony is staggering: the same generals who profited from war and left frontline fighters abandoned now claim to honor martyrs. These individuals built fortunes while soldiers bled and died with no medical care, no supplies, and no salaries. The families of the fallen suffer in poverty, while these warlords live in opulence in Mekelle and beyond. Their invocation of martyrdom is not respect—it is exploitation.

  1. Weaponized Patriotism and Gaslighting

The press release accuses Getachew Reda of undermining “unity” and “national cohesion.” Yet, it is this same group of generals and political holdovers who:

Undermined the Pretoria Peace Agreement by opposing the return of occupied territories.
Sabotaged reform efforts aimed at accountability, transparency, and good governance.

Carried out or enabled targeted killings and harassment of whistleblowers and change agents within the TDF and the interim institutions.

Their definition of “unity” is the coerced silence of a population under military control and fear.
Their patriotism is a hollow slogan—used to deflect from accountability.

  1. Reform Is Inevitable—and Irreversible

The people of Tigray are no longer willing to accept false narratives from corrupt elites hiding behind uniforms. The reform agenda led by the former President Getachew Reda and supported by a new generation of TDF professionals, civil society leaders, and youth is a moral and historical necessity.

No amount of propaganda can undo the truth now surfacing. No press release can bury the
mounting evidence of systemic abuse.

  1. Recommendations: A Roadmap for Justice and Reform
  2. Launch an International, Independent Investigation into:

The full scope of crimes committed by the “Above-the-Core” military faction.
Illegal exploitation of natural resources, especially gold and land seizures.
Human rights violations, including disappearances and extrajudicial killings.

  1. Immediately Disband the So-Called Office for Peace and Security of Tigray, replacing it with a civilian-led, legally accountable security institution.
  2. Empower Truth and Reconciliation Mechanisms, ensuring that victims’ voices are heard and the trauma of militarized corruption is addressed with integrity.
  3. Guarantee Full Protection for Reformists and Whistleblowers, including legal safeguards and physical security against assassination attempts, harassment, and smear campaigns.

Closing Statement

Let it be clearly understood:
The age of impunity is over. The days when generals could commit crimes in the name of “the struggle” are finished.

Tigray’s future will not be determined by corrupt warlords but by its people—through justice, reform, and dignity.
The foxes have been exposed.
The people are awake.
And Tigray will rise.
