TDA along with Blood Bank Mekelle Branch Office organized a blood donating program for its staff to donate blood. The aim of the program was to sensitize people of the importance of giving blood on regular bases.
Staff blood donors said that donating blood helps save lives and has positive benefits for themselves. Meanwhile, they called on anyone capable of age and healthy to give blood regularly to save lives of people in desperate need.
The medics from Blood Bank Mekelle Branch Office advised that donating blood improves one’s emotional and physical health, boosts immunity, reduces risk of heart disease, demotes possibility of cancer and elates mental health. They also indicated that there is a scarcity of blood in the bank, thus urged everyone to contribute.
