Comprehensive Questions Regarding Meeting with U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa
Dear Leaders of Tigrayan Opposition Political Parties,
On behalf of the people of Tigray, we demand a transparent and comprehensive statement regarding your recent meeting with U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Mike Hammer, in Mekele, Tigray. The public has the right to access information concerning the discussions and decisions made during this pivotal meeting.
We require a detailed record of all topics discussed, decisions made, and motions proposed during the meeting. This includes but is not limited to:
Tigrayan Prisoners: What actions were proposed or taken to address the situation of Tigrayan prisoners held in Ethiopian prisons?
Territorial Integrity and Constitutional Order: What strategies were discussed to ensure the restoration of Tigray’s territorial integrity and constitutional order to the pre-war status quo? How will the full implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement be achieved?
Withdrawal of Amhara militias from all Tigray territories : What specific measures were proposed to secure the complete withdrawal of Eritrean, non-federal forces from Tigray?
Peace, Justice, and Accountability: How will sustainable peace, justice, and accountability be ensured for the victims of the Tigray genocide?
Return of IDPs: What plans were outlined for the safe and swift return of internally displaced persons to their homes?
Hunger and Starvation: What immediate actions were discussed to address the dire humanitarian situation, including hunger and starvation, in Tigray?
We demand clear timelines for the implementation of any agreements or decisions reached during the meeting. Additionally, it is imperative that all motions or decisions made are documented and made available to the public.
Your prompt and comprehensive response to these critical questions is essential in fulfilling your obligation to the people of Tigray. This information will be made available to the public domain for transparency and accountability purposes.
