Kenya’s candidate for the African Union Commission Chairperson, the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, engaged in discussions today with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, in Rabat.

During their joint press briefing, Minister Bourita expressed appreciation for Hon. Odinga’s visit, recognizing him as a friend of Morocco. The discussions focused on strategies to promote peace, stability, and development across Africa.

Minister Bourita noted that the visit was significant for Morocco to better understand Hon. Odinga’s candidacy and vision, particularly regarding the African Union’s potential to enhance its global presence.

Yesterday, he engaged in discussions with Morocco’s Foreign Affairs minister Nasser Bourita, in Rabat.

The discussions focused on strategies to promote peace, stability, and development across Africa, and the former Prime Minister took this opportunity to highlight his vision for the continent, and his priorities if elected as the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson.

On his part, Minister Bourita noted that the visit was significant for Morocco to better understand Hon. Odinga’s candidacy and vision, particularly regarding the African Union’s potential to enhance its global presence.

Hon. Odinga will continue on his tour of North Africa and other regions, in an effort to garner support for his candidacy.

It is remberd that Raila’s visit to Eritrea preceded the long-awaited AUC chairmanship candidates’ debate in Addis Ababa.

Another vote in the fold; Raila took his campaign near Djibouti, where his main challenger in the AUC race comes from.
