Advancing Regional Connectivity and Inclusion: IGAD at the Horn of Africa Gateway Project Meeting
The IGAD Executive Secretary, H.E. Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu (@DrWorkneh), today joined Member States kenya,Ethiopia and international partners at the High-Level Meeting on the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project.
In his remarks, Dr. Workneh reaffirmed IGAD’s commitment to transforming borders into bridges — and marginalisation into opportunity.
He underscored that the project is more than infrastructure; it is a strategic investment in regional equity, with targeted development in Mandera, Suftu, and Dollo Ado aimed at fostering inclusion and shared prosperity.
IGAD extends its appreciation to the Government of Ethiopia, represented by @MoF_Ethiopia; the National Treasury of Kenya, under @KeTreasury (represented by Principal Secretary Hon. Cyrell Odede); and our long-standing development partner, @WorldBank, for championing this transformative regional initiative.
