Journalist Tesfalem Waldyes Released from Detention
Tesfalem Waldyes, founder and editor-in-chief of the online outlet Ethiopia Insider, has been released from detention today, according to a statement from the publication.
Tesfalem, a respected journalist known for his investigative reporting, is also the head of Haq Media and Communication, which manages Ethiopia Insider. His release was welcomed by colleagues, friends, and press freedom advocates who had rallied for his freedom throughout his detention.
Local and international organizations have been praised for their continuous efforts and advocacy on Tesfalem’s behalf.
