Asimba party called for the dissolution of pretoria agreement.

Mekelle:  4 February 2024 (Tigray Herald)

Asimba party called for the dissolution of the Permanent Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (COHA), signed between the Government of Ethiopia and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) so called pretoria agreement.

Statement from the Asimba Democratic Party (NDP) on the Pretoria Agreement

The Pretoria Treaty, which we hoped for so much, will not guarantee the survival and security of our people but will prolong the destruction of the Tigrayan people.

It has been a year and four months since the contract was signed. This treaty has something positive to say about it as it has stopped the bloody war and allowed our people to breathe a measure of peace.

However, this contract is not transparent and accountable; origin and origin unknown; It is a hijacked deal without a clear plan and leadership.

This treaty is even being fulfilled and the war is changing its form and our people are being massacred by arrows.

There are many explanations for the arrowhead destruction, but the main ones are as follows.

1. By preventing foreign and local invaders from leaving the land of Tigray and allowing the destruction of our people to continue,

2. By keeping our displaced people in darkness so that they cannot return to their homes and lead a better life.

3. Preventing the displaced people from receiving aid for more than a year.

4. The federal government has declared to the world that there is no famine in Tigray.

5. Failure to release Tigrayan military and civilians imprisoned in various prisons on the basis of their identity alone.

6. The federal government and the TPLF who signed this agreement have not solved the major obstacles of the people of Tigray by suppressing the implementation of the agreement and using it as an extension of their power ADP calls for contract replacement offering:

The ADP position statement with solutions continues below.

1. The Treaty of Pretoria should be dissolved and replaced by another treaty that can stop the destruction of our people.

2. The new agreement should be led by Tigrayans represented from all Tigray intellectuals,

3. Suspended humanitarian assistance should be resumed and provided to the displaced persons immediately.

4. The Eritrean army and other invaders should withdraw from Tigray altogether as soon as possible,

5. The IDPs should return to their homes immediately and their suffering should end.

6. All of us Tigrayans should stand by the people and the Emergency Response Task Force for Tigray to fight the serious famine threat in Tigray;

7. We call for the release of all Tigrayans who are imprisoned in various prisons of this country without any crime.
