TPLF, Prosperity Party Hold Third Round of Discussions in Tigray’s Capital
Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) held their third round of political discussions in Mekelle.
According to TPLF’s official Facebook account, both parties agreed on the importance of maintaining the ongoing peace process and committed to working together to ensure sustainable peace.
Parties jointly condemned recent skirmishes in southern Tigray, highlighting its inconsistency with the ongoing peace process.
Additionally, they acknowledged the necessity of communication efforts that support peace and refrain from inciting conflicts.
TPLF officials also stated that they agreed to create a conducive environment to facilitate the implementation of the Pretoria peace agreement.
Tigray IRA President Getachew Reda described “the discussion was conducted in a very cordial manner.”
“The discussion mainly focused on peace building and the need to work closely to that end.” He wrote on X earlier today.
