Long distance public transportation services between Addis Ababa and Horo Guduru Wollega zone in Ethiopia’s western Oromia region have resumed after a four-year suspension due to insecurity, Wazema has learnt from local residents. Residents of Agemsa, Kombolcha, and Sulule and Fincha woredas told Wazema that they had suffered severe difficulties in the past four years due to the suspension. Public transportation services on the main highway connecting Addis Ababa to Shambu, the administrative seat of the zone, was interrupted due to armed clashes between government troops and the rebel Oromo Liberation Army.
