IDPs in Tigray’s capital, Mekelle, are rallying for the swift execution of the Pretoria peace deal, underscoring the critical nature of their situation.
The IDPs press for an instantaneous return to their hometowns, calling for the removal of external forces and the settlers they brought, emphasizing the importance of preserving territorial integrity and upholding constitutional borders.
In a plea to humanitarian organizations, the IDPs urgently request the prompt delivery of food aid, citing worsening suffering due to severe starvation.
The IDPs also demand accountability for crimes committed against them, emphasizing the necessity to address and rectify the injustices they have faced.
Marching to the President’s office, the IDPs make their voices heard.
Speaking to the IDPs, #Tigray Interim Administration President Getachew Reda asserts that addressing the IDP issue is a top priority, pledging the administration’s utmost efforts to facilitate the return of IDPs to their homes.
Similar sentiments resonated in recent demonstrations held two days ago across various parts of Tigrai, including the town of Shire, highlighting unified calls for action and change.
