Opposition Tigray Independence Party demands immediate action to protect IDPs from further suffering during rainy season
Tigray Independence Party (TIP) has issued a press statement calling for urgent action to prevent further suffering of Internally Displaced Persons from rainy season hardships.
In a statement released on May 17, 2024, TIP highlights the vulnerabilities faced by IDPs after being displaced. “Our people who have been ruthlessly displaced from their homes are enduring severe hardships,” the statement notes.
TIP stresses the urgency of taking immediate action to alleviate the people’s suffering and help them return to a normal life. “Instead of merely offering hope, practical actions need to be prioritized to relieve people from the misery and hardship they are experiencing.” The party urges.
The party emphasizes the need for prompt action to prevent any issues that may arise during the upcoming rainy season. “We call for early and decisive measures to mitigate potential inconveniences specifically associated with the forthcoming rainy season.” it declares.
