UN Secretary-General Special Adviser travel to Mekelle
UN Secretary-General Special Adviser on Solutions to Internal Displacement Robert Piper is to travel to Mekelle on Tuesday.
The Special Advisor will be accompanied by a delegation from his office.
During his stay in Mekelle, Robert Piper is expected to meet high-level authorities from the Tigray Interim Administration. He will also visit an IDP center in the capital.
On the 4th of May 2022, United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres announced the appointment of Robert Andrew Piper of Australia as Special Adviser on Solutions to Internal Displacement.
Tomorrow’s visit is his first ever visit to the war-ravaged Tigray.
