The Tendering of 8 State-owned Sugar Enterprises Notice of Bid Submission on 10th October 2023
October 13, 2023, Addis Abeba , Ethiopia.
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (the Government of Ethiopia) through the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), announces the receipt of Technical and Financial Bids for the privatization of 8 State-owned sugar enterprises on October 10, 2023.
MoF and EIH would like to thank those who have participated in the bidding process and have submitted their technical and financial bids on time.
An evaluation team is currently reviewing the technical proposals and will communicate its findings with the qualified bidders by October 20, 2023. Descriptions of the evaluation criteria were set out in the Request for Proposal (RFP) shared with all interested investors.
The privatization of the Sugar estates marks a pivotal move to ensure more efficient use of national resources by shifting towards a competitive market structure, with a greater role for the private sector in the economy.
