Tigray Orthodox Church officially opened its new independent church in Ireland earlier today.

Bishop for Tigray Orthodox Church in Australia and Europe Abune Ephrem led the opening ceremony in the capital Dublin.

His holiness also called upon the faithful to support the newly established See of Selama Kesate Birhan.

The See of Selam Kesate Birhan anointed 6 bishops including Abune Ephrem to serve its dioceses in Tigray and abroad.

The See of Selam Kesate Birhan Tigray Orthodox Church declared its autocephaly in May 2021 accusing the Ethiopian synod of supporting a ‘genocidal’ war on Tigray.
