NATIONAL.NARRATIVES  STRATEGY in pre- and  post genocide tigray considering the rich ancient cultural traditional aksum Tigray heritage’sheritage’s

A STRATEGIC NARRATIVE IS A STORY THAT IS PURPOSEFULLY CREATED WITH MEANINGFUL ELEMENTS AND INTENTION IN ORDER TO PRODUCE A DESIRED OUTCOME.

In pre-genocide Tigray, the National Narratives Strategy would have focused on celebrating and preserving the rich ancient cultural and traditional heritage of Aksum and Tigray. Emphasizing the over 3000 years of Tigray history, the narrative would aim to foster a sense of pride, unity, and identity among the Tigrayan people. This strategy might include highlighting the contributions of Aksum to world history, showcasing cultural practices, and emphasizing the continuity of Tigrayan traditions.

Post-genocide, the National Narratives Strategy would likely need to address the traumatic events and promote healing, reconciliation, and resilience. The narrative might involve acknowledging the pain while also emphasizing the strength derived from the enduring history and cultural legacy of Tigray. It could aim to rebuild a collective identity, fostering unity and solidarity among the affected communities.

Throughout both pre- and post-genocide periods, the strategic narrative would play a crucial role in shaping public perception, both domestically and internationally. It could involve diplomatic efforts to showcase Tigray’s cultural significance, garnering support for preservation efforts and international assistance in the aftermath of the crisis.

In essence, the National Narratives Strategy would be a tool for shaping the narrative around Tigray’s history, culture, and identity, with the goal of influencing perceptions, promoting unity, and contributing to the restoration and preservation of the region’s heritage.
