Recent statements by some parties to the agreement appear to be a clear violationtheseguidelines. These pronouncements come across as unnecessarily hostile and disregard the agreed upon communication channels. This approach undermines the role of the Monitoring and VerificationTeam and the impartiality of the mediation process.

Beyond procedural irregularities, these statements also contradict the core principles of the peaceagreement, which center on constructive dialogue and trust-building. Making unsubstantiated claimsin public statements only serves to heighten tensions in an already fragile security situation.

We urge all stakeholders to uphold the peace process by avoiding public intimidation and inflammatory rhetoric, committing to a truthful representation of facts, bringing all disagreements  the negotiating table under the implementation procedures of the agreement.
