In response to the recent military aggression by the Abiy regime in Oromia
Mekelle፡ October 29, 2024 (Tigray Herald)
In response to the recent military aggression by the Abiy regime in Oromia—marked by a hastily imposed deadline of two to three months for a “final offensive” on our positions—our gallant forces have mounted a decisive counter-offensive, securing significant victories across multiple fronts. From October 23 to 28, 2024, coordinated actions were launched by our central command in Dirre Incinnii, Darraa, Warra Jaarsoo, and Ammayyaa; our western command in Yubdoo, Guutee, Boojii, Buunnoo Beddellee, Saasiggaa, and Abbay Coomman; our northern command in Harxummaa Fursee; and our southern command in Elwayyee, Galaanaa, and Surroo Barguddaa. Additionally, our Harsadee command has made strategic advances in Bachoo and Booraa.
During this operation, our forces seized a substantial cache of regime weaponry, including 2 DShK heavy machine guns, 15 PKM machine guns, 287 AK-47 rifles, 14 sniper rifles, and 12 SKS rifles. Furthermore, 102 lucky regime soldiers have been captured, with numbers expected to increase as verification continues. The regime’s continued disruption of communication lines in many of these areas has limited the flow of information, but we anticipate a full assessment of this operation’s outcomes soon.
Despite all obstacles, our resolve remains unwavering, and our forces are demonstrating unparalleled skill, courage, and discipline in defending our homeland. The OLA remains committed to upholding the dignity of our people. The regime’s empty attempts to subdue alternative visions of justice will never succeed. Our continued victories serve as a testament to the strength and resilience of our fighters and the justice of our cause. Each gain brings us closer to peace, stability, and freedom for all.
