The foreign ministers of France and Germany arrived in Ethiopia today

The Foreign Ministers’ visit aims to repair the diplomatic relations between the European Union and Ethiopia that have been damaged due to the war in Tigray. It was also pointed out that the visit is following the implementation of the peace agreement reached in South Africa two months ago between the federal government and Tigray.

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna and her German counterpart Annalena Berbock arrived in Addis Ababa today to support the peace agreement signed in Pretoria, South Africa to end the two-year-long war in Ethiopia.

It was also emphasized that the German Foreign Minister Annale Berbock and her French counterpart Catherine Colonna were traveling together to show their support for the peace agreement brokered by the African Union.

During their two-day stay in Ethiopia, the ministers are expected to discuss bilateral and regional issues with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonen and President Sahlework Zewde.
