The Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church His Holiness Abune Mathias is going to Tigray to discuss the next plan of the Tigray Church.
Information coming out indicates that during their stay, they will attend the funeral of His Holiness John II, who passed away on February 21/2015.
His Holiness Abune Yohannes, Archbishop II, was the patron of Saint Fremantus Abba Salama Spiritual College and Mekele Debre Salam Saint Michael Cathedral.
It will be remembered that in connection with the journey of His Holiness Abune Mathias to Mekele, various elders and religious leaders refused to accept his request to go to Mekele with him due to illness.
At the beginning of this month, following the sending of a letter to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church asking the Tigray Church to resume the severed relationship, the Tigray Orthodox Church responded by letter.
It will be recalled that the church announced in a six-page letter that it will not continue with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
