The Secretary-General’s visit is the first time that an open genocidal war has been declared against the people of Tigray for the past two years, but it is the second time in Ethiopia since the open invasion began.
The visit is also to observe the implementation of the peace agreement reached between the governments of Tigray and Ethiopia, the Reporter newspaper quoted the diplomat as saying.
Antonio Guterres will visit Afar and Amhara regions in addition to his visit to Tigray.
Antonio Guterres was a supporter of Abiy Ahmed during the Tigray genocide war.
