People are dying of food shortages in Tigray.

It has been more than four months since the Pretoria Agreement was signed. Although it was stipulated that humanitarian aid should enter Tigray without restrictions after the agreement, there is still not enough emergency humanitarian aid.

There is also a serious problem in distributing the limited food that is entering Tigray.

Samre, Abergele, Gijet, Silewa, Bora, Tembien and Nekseghe woreda have been the woreda with the highest levels of hunger.

The displaced people from West and Northwest Tigray and Ero woreda are also not receiving adequate food and medicines.

Civil servants and pensioners of Tigray who have not been paid for more than two years are also at risk of starvation.

Amhara militias are also conducting military training in Alamata and Korem. In addition, the Amhara Regional State government confirmed last week that it will not leave West Tigray.

They also confirmed their statement in Gondar three days ago that they will not allow the return of Tigrayans who have been displaced from West Tigray.

The formation of the Tigray Interim Government, which is supposed to solve all these problems, has taken more than four months.

Chairman of the Interim Committee Formation Committee General Tadesse Woreda and TPLF Executive Member Getachew Reda have been summoned to Addis Ababa for talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

After these discussions, the interim government is expected to be announced this week.

Many are suggesting that the interim government will take Tigray to a better system of democracy and peace.

However, many are accusing the TPLF of be friending Abiy Ahmed and isolating the opposition parties in Tigray to facilitate its own active participation.

General Tsadkan G/Tinsae said the interim government to be formed in Tigray should be inclusive of the ruling TPLF, opposition parties, intellectuals, civil societies, diaspora and so on.
